Assessment Consultations & Data Requests
The Office of Student Affairs is dedicated to supporting a culture of evidence-based decision making at EIU and is pleased to provide consultative support for Student Affairs assessment projects and data needs. Our philosophy is to build capacity through individualized consulting in order to enable you with the feedback, training, and technical support to be successful throughout and beyond the life cycle of your project.
The type of assessment consultation and data request support include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assessment Consultation
- Establishing an assessment plan
- Writing and measuring student learning outcomes
- Setting goals, benchmarks, and metrics to measure program outcomes
- Designing and implementing surveys, rubrics, interviews, focus groups, and portfolios
- Analyzing and interpreting assessment data (qualitative and quantitative)
- Training staff (both professional and paraprofessional) in assessment practices
- Using data to highlight program successes and continuous improvement efforts
- Reporting assessment findings and implications
- Benchmarking EIU trend data or national survey data
Data Request
- Creating custom reports
- Assembling data for specific identifiable student populations
- Assistance setting up a data-entry form/excel sheet
