War Veterans Buried in Thomas Lincoln Cemetary
There is one known Mexican War veteran buried in the Thomas Lincoln Cemetery. Sexson has a grave marker that indicates his service in the war as well as his death date. There is a monument to the left of his grave marker that gives his birth and death dates and serves as a grave marker for his wife, Mary.

A number of Civil War veterans are buried in the Thomas Lincoln Cemetery. According to a survey done by an Eastern Illinois University graduate history seminar on the Civil War, nine veterans are buried in the cemetery.

In The Prairie Sleeps- Cemeteries of Lafayette, Paradise, and Pleasant Grove Townships (Volume 1), the Coles County Genealogical Society transcribed the grave markers at all cemeteries in the townships. In their transcription of the Thomas Lincoln Cemetery, they identified sixteen Civil War veterans buried in the cemetery. In addition to the nine listed above, they recognized:
