NRHH puts on a large Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser in the Fall. The goal of the fundraiser is to raise awareness through the Eastern Illinois University student body population and to raise money for local organizations. These organizations were chosen due to the assistance they provide and the enormous impact they make on individuals within the local community.
Along with the above fundraising effort, NRHH also coordinates a fundraiser during the Spring. For this fundraiser, all proceeds go towards University Housing scholarships.
NRHH coordinates one large service project per semester to serve the Charleston community and surrounding communities. Be sure to keep an eye out what we're doing this year!
NRHH members must have 15 service hours per semester to stay active in the organization. While helping with these fundraisers counts, NRHH members are involved in various other service opportunities throughout the academic year on Eastern Illinois University's campus and for the surrounding communities. Our leadership retreats now have a community service component.
NRHH has also become the first organization at Eastern Illinois University to “Adopt-A- Block” in the Charleston Community. “Adopt-A-Block “allows NRHH members to be engaged specifically in the Charleston community by conducting street and neighborhood cleanup on a specific location in the Charleston community. There are numerous times throughout each month that NRHH coordinates these efforts and NRHH members sign up to participate. NRHH members are required to participate in two “Adopt-A-Block” sessions each academic semester.
