Physics offers Honor courses for those in the Sandra and Jack Pine Honors College. These courses, while similar to the regular courses, come with extra challenges. Our class sizes still remain small so the professors know the students. This is one of the great attributes of EIU.
Our PHY: Engineering Physics major in the Honors College, Andrew Herman, said, "I was not sure what to expect when I traveled down to the middle of Illinois to tour Eastern Illinois University, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice-sized campus with a wide range of opportunities and classes to attend. During my campus tour, I was inspired by the passion the staff and professors in the Physics department have for physics and engineering. Meeting professors in the department was the largest factor in my decision to come to Eastern. During my past two years here at EIU I have grown to love the small class sizes in my major classes along with the fantastic faculty who are always willing to help you learn challenging concepts and ideas. Being a part of Pine Honors College has allowed me to find peers who share my passion for learning and who want to push one another to become the best students they can be. While also helping one another to develop into well-rounded adults ready for a career after EIU. Go Panthers!"
