Eastern Illinois University is ranked #40 among Public & Private Schools in Regional Universities Midwest. Schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence.
#26 (out of 48) in Best Colleges for Veterans (tie) [Regional Universities Midwest]
#43 (out of 63) in Best Value Schools [Regional Universities Midwest]
Eastern Illinois University was recently ranked as a "Best Online College in Illinois" by Affordable Colleges Online, a national organization that uses data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the National Center for Education Statistics.
Universities on the list were selected for "going above and beyond the industry standard to help make online education programs an excellent option,” according to Dan Schuessler, the organization's CEO and founder.
Affordable Colleges Online (AC Online) surveys over 7,500 colleges annually, and its rankings take into consideration such metrics as average in-state net price, the number and variety of online programs offered, the student-teacher ratio, and the availability of academic, career counseling, and job placement services for students and graduates.
EIU offers a diverse assortment of online undergraduate and graduate degree programs for students, continuing EIU’s tradition of excellence and student-focused educational programming while offering increased accessibility to college-aged and adult learners.
In addition, our Psychology degree program made the 2018 list of Best Online Colleges for Value. The SR Education group analyzed accredited online schools across the nation, taking into consideration academic strength factors along with manually researched tuition rates in order to provide a list of colleges offering the best value to students. Inclusion on this list shows high academic standards and a commitment to affordability, two key factors important to prospective students.
