Features on a Single Line Set
Calling features are easy to use, convenient and help us utilize our time efficiently in the office.
Procedures to activating these features on a single line phone set differ from those used with a multi-line set. Below is a guide to using these features on a single line set:
Speed Call - Individual List |
To Activate |
- Lift handset . . . Dial *74 (hear special tone)
- Dial the -digit access code (0 - 9)
- Dial number to be stored
- Press [#] . . . hang up (Note: up to 10 numbers can be stored)

- Lift handset . . Dial [* + the one digit code] of the number you wish to call.

Speed Call - Group List |
To Program |
- Lift handset . . . Dial [*75] (hear special tone)
- Dial the 2-digit access code (00-49)
- Dial number to be stored
- Press [#] . . . hang up (50 numbers can be stored)
Note: One designated programmer per department.

To Use |
- Lift handset . . . Dial [* + the two digit code] of the number you wish to call.

- Lift handset. . Dial [*76] and answer call
Note: You may wish to store *76 on a memory key.

Call Forward |
To Activate |
- Lift handset . . . Dial *72 (hear special tone)
- Dial number where calls are to be forwarded (hear confirmation tone) (7 digit number for a 581#, 10 digit number for a local number, and 1 + 10 digits for a long distance number). This excludes Pin Restricted phones; campus and local; forward to a 7 digit number only. Can not forward a pin restricted phone to a long distance number.
- hang up.
to forward to voicemail, the number is 581-0400, if wish to forward to your auto attendant, the number is 217-348-0400

To Cancel |
- Lift handset . . . Dial [*73] (hear special tone)
- hang up.

Ring Again(campus calls only) |
To Activate |
- Press [Link Key] (hear special tone)
- Dial *73
- Hang up

To Respond |
- Hear short bursts of ringing
- Lift handset (number is automatically dialed)

Transfer / 3-Way |
To Use |
Establish Conversation
- Press [Link] (hear special tone)
- Dial the number of the person to whom you are transferring the call
- When you hear ring back, you may stay on the line and speak privately or ..press Release to transfer the call.
- To establish a 3-way conference call. Press Link a second time.
- If the party you are transferring to does not answer and you have already pressed Release, the call will ring back to you after 4 rings (unless they have voice mail).
- Or , if you've stayed on the line and it's busy or doesn't answer, press Link twice to retrieve the caller and cancel the option.

Either Red indicator light will flash or you will hear a stutter dial tone . . .
- Lift handset
- Dial 581-0400
- Enter password
Note: You may want to store 581-0400 on a memory key.

Memory Keys (M8009 model only) |
To Program |
- Lift handset (hear dial tone, you will continue to hear tone as you save numbers)
- Press [Save Key]
- Press [an unlabeled Memory Key]
- Dial the phone number or feature code
- Press [Save Key]
