Subject: Social Media Survey
Dear Student,
You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Ellen Eckert, a graduate student, and Dr. Andrew McNitt, a professor from the department of Political Science at Eastern Illinois University. Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. Please ask any questions about anything you do not understand, before deciding whether or not to participate. You have been asked to participate in this study because you are currently enrolled as a student at Eastern Illinois University.
I am currently researching the various ways in which college students participate politically. By clicking on the following link, you will be directed to an online survey. The purpose of this survey is to assess the differences between how students use the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

All of your responses will be kept confidential within reasonable limits. Only people directly involved with this project will have access to the surveys.
Any questions regarding this study may be directed to my supervising professor or me:
