Subject: University Naming Committee - All Staff Forum on Douglas Hall Name, March 18
In September of 2020, President Glassman asked the EIU Naming Committee to consider if the name of “Douglas” Hall, a residence hall on the campus of EIU, should be retained or changed. The EIU Naming Committee is seeking feedback from interested parties on this issue. A forum for all staff will be held on Thursday, March 18 at 2:00 pm.
University Naming Committee members, Ken Wetstein and Angie Campbell will facilitate this meeting, which will be conducted via Zoom. All staff are encouraged and welcomed to attend the forum. Due to issues with “ZView Onlineoom bombing," internet trolling and other disruptions, the Zoom link will not be shared publicly. Those wishing to attend will need to contact Angie to request the meeting link. You can email her at arcampbell@eiu.edu or call her at 581-5299 with any questions.
The University Naming Committee will soon be distributing a survey for all interested parties. Please be on the watch for more information on the survey. The survey will be anonymous for all who complete it.

The University Naming Committee will ask individuals to respond to the following two options:
The University should re-name “Douglas Hall.”
The University should retain the name of “Douglas Hall.”
Forum participants will be able to elaborate on their answer and/or share any other comments they may have.
Additional open forums are being conducted. These forums will be open to anyone. Dates and times for these sessions will be sent out via University communications in the next few days.
Interested individuals may also forward feedback to any committee member. Feedback will be shared with all members of the committee. Information including committee membership, meeting minutes, and recordings are available at www.eiu.edu/naming.
