Subject: Recommended Haven Training for Faculty/Staff
Dear EIU Faculty and Staff,
Per the Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act, we must provide annual survivor-centered and trauma-informed response training to faculty and staff. The Haven for Faculty/Staff Training Course is a required mandate for all new employees to Eastern Illinois University. However, we encourage ALL employees to complete the training modules.
Haven has two modules. Upon completion of the 1st module, you will receive an email in 30 days with instructions to complete the 2nd module. It should take no more than 1-1.5 hours to complete both modules. If you choose to take the course in multiple settings, please complete the section of the module you are in, before logging out. Otherwise, you may have to take the section module over again.
To Begin Haven for Faculty & Staff, please follow the instructions below:
1. Log into your PAWS account
2. Click on the “totalEIU: MyHealth” tab
3. Click on the “Haven: Understanding Sexual Assault Education” link
4. This will take you directly to the training
Once registered, to log-back in, access Haven Faculty/Staff through your PAWS account. Once you log in to Haven, you can confirm your progress and print a copy for your records.
Difficulties accessing the PAWS system should be addressed through Campus Technology Support. They can be reached online at http://www.eiu.edu/panthertech or by phone, M-F – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at 217/581-4357.
Once you have registered and started the course, should you experience any difficulties or require support, the Online Technical Support Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply call 1-866-384-9062 or click on the "Help" button located in the upper right-hand corner of every screen. You do not need to be logged into the course to access the Help Site.
