Subject: Sexual Assault On-Line Training
Dear EIU Faculty and Staff:
In keeping with Eastern Illinois University's on-going education and safety initiatives and in preparation for compliance with the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Acts, all new students and new employees are required to complete a training program on preventing sexual and interpersonal violence. All continuing students and employees are highly encouraged to complete the training.
An on-line training program has been created on Desire2Learn (D2L) to achieve this initiative. Please login at https://www.eiu.edu/eiuonline and enter your EIU username and password. The course name is Sexual Violence & Interpersonal Violence Prevention/Procedures and will appear alphabetically in your course listings.
Please complete this training by December 2, 2013.
Additionally, a newly created website, Sexual Assault and Interpersonal Violence Resources and Prevention, contains important information related to sexual assault and interpersonal violence (http://www.eiu.edu/sexualassaultresources).
Thank you for your anticipated participation in this training as well as other on-going educational initiatives. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jackie Hines, Ph.D.
