Abuse and Neglected Child Reporting

On June 27, 2012 the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act 325 ILCS 5 was amended to include personnel of institutions of higher learning as mandated reporters in the state of Illinois HB3887. As a person working for Eastern Illinois University, you are now a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect.

New Employees

All employees are required to complete ANCRA training in D2L  acknowledging this responsibility.

This is a one-time requirement.

As a Mandated Reporter, you are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect immediately. Willful failure to report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect is a misdemeanor (first violation) or a class 4 felony (second or subsequent violation.)
