MOVE-IN
We can't wait for you to check in to your new home at Eastern Illinois University! Move-in day is a busy and exciting time for both students and families. We are sure that you have a lot of questions about your new home away from home. If you are unable to find the answers here, call the Housing and Dining Services Office at 217-581-5111.
Let's Prepare For Your Big Day!
Additional Fall 2024 Move-In Information will be added this summer!
ASSIGNMENT LETTER AND GUIDE
Before you head to Charleston, be sure to have your Assignment Letter. This letter consists of information regarding where you will live, the meal plan you chose, and your roommate(s) information. The letter is sent to your permanent address dependent on when you applied for Housing. For fall semester, the first round of letters will arrive in your homes in mid-June and the next round will arrive in mid-July. After that, the process is on a rolling basis before the official move-in day and sent to your EIU Email account.
Additionally, we have created an Assignment Guide that can help you prepare for move-in, including down-payment information, shopping list, and technology recommendations.
MOVE-IN SIGN-UPS AND EARLY ARRIVALS
All students must use our Move-In Registration System (opening in late July) to pre-register for a move-in date and time. More information will be listed on this page and sent to your EIU Email account as details become available. For more information on Early Arrival Groups and how to request an Early Arrival, please visit our Early Arrivals page.
