The Department of Educational Leadership offers courses for both the master and specialist degree on campus each fall, spring, and summer semester.
Classes are offered both weekday evenings from 5–10pm and in a weekend format of Friday 5-10pm and Saturday 8am-4pm.

Principal Preparation/Endorsement Program
Is designed for those educators wanting to pursue leadership roles as an assistant principal or principal. Individuals wanting to continue to complete coursework to obtain their Principal Endorsement may apply to the Principal Preparation Program after successful completion of 18 semester hours of MSED coursework (see above for coursework.) The Principal Endorsement Program requires, in addition to the master's program, successful completion of an additional nine (9) semester hours of coursework over the course of a year for a total of 42 semester hours. Additional coursework includes:

Specialist Degree in Educational Administration (Ed.S.)
This program provides the necessary coursework for graduates to secure the Illinois State Board of Education Certification to be a Superintendent of Schools. In addition to successful completion of the program, two years of full-time administrative experience and successful completion of the Illinois Superintendent Certification Test are required for certification. This degree requires a minimum of 33 semester hours above the Master's Degree. The required coursework is as follows:
