Print Reserves Policy

Circulation Services offers a Print Reserves service. The service will make course reserve readings available to students at Booth Library.

Print Reserve requests will usually be processed and made available for checkout within 24 hours of submission. During peak periods requests may take longer than 72 hours to process.

The duration of any photocopied print reserves material is limited to one semester unless permission is obtained from the copyright holder.

Items permissible to be placed on reserve for the duration of one semester include but are not limited to:

  • Journal articles (one article per volume, if Booth Library does not own the journal)
  • Book chapters (one chapter or 10% of book, whichever is less)

Items permissible for permanent reserve include but are not limited to:

  • Personal books
  • Booth Library books
  • Textbooks
  • Journal articles (if Booth Library owns the journal)
  • Maps and posters
  • Materials that are in the public domain (in general published before 1923)
