The Parkland College Department of Public Safety welcomes you and encourages you to use the student facilities to further your educational process. They would like to remind you that while you are at Parkland, you must adhere to the student conduct code for all Parkland students as well as those set forth by the university you are attending (Parkland College student conduct code).
Other rules to note include:
- Beginning July 1, 2015, Parkland College will be a smoke-free campus.
- If a fire alarm is to sound you must leave the building immediately.
- Tornado shelters are on the lower level of each building.
- In accordance with the School of Extended Learning Policies, as well as the policies of host institutions, children are NOT permitted to attend EIU School of Extended Learning classes or exams with parents. Children may not wait in hallways or other campus locations without adult supervision. If children are left unattended at campus locations, the child and the parent will be asked to leave. If damage or vandalism occurs on any host campus as a result of a child left unattended on campus, the parent will be held liable for any costs.
In addition, Parkland College’s Department of Public Safety is in operation 24 hours a day and 7 days a week offering escorts to your car, vehicle unlocks, and a police presence on campus. If you are in need of their assistance, please call 217-351-2369.
