Research & Creative Interests
Research projects in my group are directed towards the development of activities, experiments and methods designed to enhance and improve the teaching/learning of introductory chemistry. Students in general chemistry courses are the primary beneficiaries of these projects. Hence, the ultimate goal of any project is for it to be incorporated into the general chemistry curriculum. The following experiments performed by students in General Chemistry Lab have resulted from projects in my group:
- Spectroscope and Line Spectra
- Composition of a Copper Carbonate
- The Composition of Air
Currently under development is a spectrophotometric-based kinetics experiment utilizing an enzyme assay for the determination of glucose in foods.
