Lindsey: Summer 2013
SSC: What career aspirations do you have?
Lindsey: I would like to work in research or possibly teach at a university.
SSC: What other plans do you have after graduating from EIU?
Lindsey: I am attending graduate school at Northern Arizona University for Applied Sociology.
SSC: How did you become introduced to the Student Success Center?
Lindsey: I was required to see a counselor and take a special class as stated in the terms of my re-admission to the university.
SSC: How long did you/have you been visiting someone in the SSC? Who did you visit? How often?
Lindsey: My visits were during the Fall 2010 semester and I met with Taisha Mikell
SSC: What were some academic problems you were facing prior to visiting the SSC?
Lindsey: I was dismissed from the university after the Fall 2006 semester. My GPA was below a 2.0. I rarely attended class or completely work in time.
SSC: How did the SSC help you overcome your academic struggles?
Lindsey: It helped me re-learn how to be a student and it helped to have someone to talk to.
SSC: Have your academic habits continued to improve since you began visiting the SSC?
Lindsey: They improved since I was re-admitted to the university. I never miss class and I go above and beyond when it comes to my assignments.
SSC: Has your GPA improved? How much?
Lindsey: Yes, when I returned to the university my gpa was a 1.92 and I graduated with a 3.08 gpa.
SSC: Would you recommend the SSC to other students? What would you say?
Lindsey: I think the SSC can be very beneficial to students, especially if they are returning to school after a break.
