EIU is so fortunate to have Frankie Wilson on staff! Her work leading the restructure of EIU 1111 has been amazing. She is student focused, collaborative and innovative - the course is going to be fantastic. She is also a strong advocate for our students and their success. It's exciting to hear her ideas, see her passion and know that our students will have a better experience because of her efforts.

We had a situation where we needed answers quickly regarding a graduate student. Knowing you can call Lana with any question and that you will be greeted with a smile and kindness is very reassuring. Lana is EIU.

Coming in clutch and sponsoring the Marc Lore Timberwolves Owner presentation and making the jersey door prize possible for a EIU student.

Marsha recently fixed a report for us that has been in need of some upgrades for years now. It was probably quite the monstrosity to pick up and pick through. Marsha, thank you for always taking the time to listen to our needs and understanding our processes so that these programs and processes can keep on working. *We* keep on working because of you! Thank you!

Chadd came by my office to replace my computer today. He was on time and extremely efficient as well as being very friendly in conversation. He said that the process would take 20 minutes, and he was right. It was a pleasure to meet him and to know that we have such friendly and extremely competent people on campus. Thanks!

Shannon is truly the most organized and knowledgeable person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Over the past few months, as she transitions from the Dean’s Office of the College of Education to the School of Extended Learning, she has continued to excel. Despite taking on the responsibilities of her previous role while learning the ropes of being a director, Shannon has been nothing short of phenomenal. Her hard work and dedication make my job so much easier, and I’m sure many others would agree. Thank you so, so much for all that you do, Shannon!

I've never had the opportunity to work with Angie Hallowell until this morning when I called her in a panic to see if she could help with a possible scheduling snafu. Angie jumped right in and went out of her way to do what she could to take care of things--even heading to a neighboring building to figure the situation out for me. That is the kind of colleague you want and a person who makes EIU great!! Thank you again, Angie!!

Dr. Ngozi Onuora has been a true blessing to the Teaching, Learning and Foundations department. She constantly goes above and beyond in not only her role as the Department Chair but taking on an abundance of extra roles with a constant smile on her face. She has the ability to make all feel extremely valued, heard, and important in both the department professional setting, as well as on a personal level. She truly and genuinely cares about all from faculty to students. Her constant positive attitude and overall joy for education is infectious and she has made an extremely positive impact on myself both professionally, as well as personally. Her knowledge, creativity, and disposition make me excited for the future of the Teaching, Learning and Foundations department with her as our leader!

A great big shout out to Julia for helping a student navigate through a tough situation. Thank you for directing them to us so we could help. It takes a village!

Dr. Hooser is an amazing Associate Dean and Teacher Licensure Officer. She is truly the "glue" that holds all of the educator preparation programs at EIU on track, incompliance with the Illinois State Board of Education's changes and mandates, and provides optimism and energy for all of the educator preparation faculty and staff at EIU. Thanks, Christy, for all you do for all of us and our educator candidates!

Mallorie is AMAZING - she is always wiling to assist with issues and questions about Academic Works and Scholarships. Thank you for assisting campus in such an important roll. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!

Ariel CONGRATS! On a Job Well Done in the coordination of the MBEIU Scholarship Pageant 2025. The SLO staff, students and pageant contestants appreciates all the countless hours, service and commitment you provided in making this year's pageant both memorable and a major success. Thanks for all you continue to do for EIU and the SLO.

Jessica is the most wonderful office manager one could hope for. Her sunny disposition is an asset to our Department of World Languages and Cultures. Students say she’s great, and everyone can see why. She loves to feed them, routinely bringing homemade dishes to the main office. What a thoughtful gesture, especially given the freezing weather we’ve had these past two months! She keeps the area where the food is served clean and tidy, as she does the student lounge, our beloved Rincón Latino, where our majors, minors and their friends like to hang out. Sometimes she bakes a delicious banana bread, or brings cookies and M&Ms, all in the spirit of sharing and creating a warm atmosphere. Her efforts extend to faculty. She will drop anything she’s doing to help us with a paper jam. When a printer cartridge is about to run out, she tells everyone she’ll take care of it tomorrow. In an emergency when she was not at her desk (she’s at another Dept. in the afternoon), I emailed her and she had fixed the problem by the next morning. Plus, she gives students and faculty handmade gifts from time to time, be it baked goodies, her homemade apple butter or peach jam, or her secret recipe hand cream. All delivered with a beautiful smile. I could not think of a better office manager than Jessica. We’re delighted to have her. Thank you for all you do!

Adriane Sparks, Heather Wohltman, Garren Porter, and Larry Auchstetter each spent at least one night being only one of two people present to run the entire library. Thank you to these Booth Library night shifters for holding down the fort during such rough conditions!
