One of only a few stand-alone public relations majors in the State

The public relations curriculum was shaped by the recommendations of the Commission on Public Relations Education. We offer among the highest number of designated public relations classes in the state. Unlike electives at other institutions, our elective clusters enhance your degree according to individual career aspirations. This allows you to specialize in their field with classes that promote enduring skills.

Opportunities outside of the classroom

You get additional hands-on experience by joining our chapter of the  Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)  and the student-run PR firm The Agency, which frequently participates in the national Bateman Competition. You can further substitute elective classes with internships, and work directly with professors on research and independent studies. By linking theory to practice, our students graduate prepared for success in the industry.

Accelerated graduate and law school programs

Qualifying public relations majors may enroll in our accelerated 4+1 graduate and 3+3 law school programs and save time and money obtaining an M.A. or J.D. Click here for more information.
