The program also includes a business component and internship requirement designed to provide professional project management and budgeting skills needed to succeed in the workforce. Join the geospatial revolution and let us equip you with professional skills highly valued by business, government and non-profit sectors.
Our program is certified by the National Professional Science Master’s Association, and most courses are taught by tenured or tenure-track faculty. Many online courses are available for the working professional. Our program is the perfect size to encourage and allow individual mentoring by faculty.
Dr. Cornebise's research and teaching interests are in cultural and population geography. Please contact Dr. Cornebise for more information about the Professional Science Master's in GIS program.
Dr. Laingen's research involves assessing multi-decadal trends of rural and agricultural land use change in the conterminous U.S. and describing the complex web of socio-ecological driving forces that cause them. He relies highly upon land use and land cover change data products derived from remotely-sensed satellite imagery, as well as more traditional types of data such as those from the quinquennial U.S. Department of Agriculture's Census of Agriculture.
Dr. Kronenfeld is a geographic information scientist with focus on geovisualization and spatial statistics. Active research projects include analysis of spatial interaction between species, visualizing patterns of uncertainty in health data, and cartogram construction.
