(Charleston, IL) — Eastern Illinois University’s regular November Board of Trustees meeting took place Thursday afternoon, November 7, in EIU’s Dvorak Concert Hall in the Doudna Fine Arts Center.
Outcomes of the meeting included approval of a new bachelor’s degree in social work program and an honorary degree approval for former Illinois State Representative Robert Flider (Journalism, ’79). Flider has held several public service and State leadership roles, including director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
In other news, the board received updates about EIU’s Title IX activities and future plans, information on the number and types of degrees earned by EIU graduates, and a variety of financial updates, including a summary of purchases, deposit and investment reports, a review of income-producing grants and contracts, and an aggregate report of FY24 tuition waivers.
