The U.S. Department of Education is currently assessing the full impact of the Office of Management and Budget's memo issued on January 27, 2025, which temporarily pauses certain federal financial assistance programs. However, according to the memo, this pause does not affect "assistance received directly by individuals." This includes Pell Grants, Federal Work-Study, and Federal Student Loans, which are awarded directly to students.
