Faculty/Staff site leaders wanted for Jumpstart Service Day Aug 17

We are currently looking for faculty and staff to serve as site leaders for our JumpStart service day during Welcome Weekend! For those of you who do not know, JumpStart is a way for incoming freshmen to get involved and give back to their community through volunteering at various local organizations during Welcome Weekend. This would be an excellent way for you to get to engage with new students you may have in class, as well as potentially recruit students into your department who are undecided in their major or are looking for on-campus employment! 

This year, JumpStart will take place on Saturday, August 17th. A t-shirt, lunch, and transportation will be provided for you. Below is a list of our project sites this year and the times you would be needed.

 Wave 1: (Arrive at check in by 9 a.m. and you will return to campus by 1:30 p.m.)

• Aikman Wildlife Center
• Village of Casey
• Hazel Anne Farm
• Catholic Charities
• ​Camp New Hope
• Fit 2 Serve Garden

Wave 2: (Arrive at check in by 9:30 a.m. and you will return to campus by 1 p.m.)

• Village of Ashmore
• 5 Mile House
• Grand Prairie Friends
• Lincoln Log Cabin
• Whiteside Garden
• Standing Stone
• Wesley United Methodist Church/The Wesley Foundation (Volunteers will walk over)
