We admit students in the MBA program for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms on a “rolling admission” basis. For students from the U.S., admission to a semester can typically take place up to three weeks prior to the start of classes (August 1, December 15, and May 1); International students are advised to apply 4-6 months earlier than these dates, especially if they wish to be considered for a GA position.
Files are not considered for admission until all materials have been received. Application files are evaluated at least twice per week against the program’s admission criteria.
Our GRE Codes are: 1199 EIU and 3769 MBA. The EIU GMAT code is DGF; MBA GMAT Full-time program code is DGF-ZJ-53, GMAT MBA Part-time program code is DGF-ZJ-62. Any of these codes will result in your scores being reported to the MBA Admissions Office. GMAT and GRE official results usually take 7 – 10 business days to be received in our office, so please plan your testing date accordingly and preferably submit all other materials prior to your test.
Important: Please note that you must apply to the Graduate School at EIU.
More Information about EIU Graduate School Admissions can be found here: https://www.eiu.edu/graduate/aboutadmissions.php

All application materials should be uploaded to the applicant's MyEIU account; applicants apply to both the MBA program and the Graduate School using their My EIU account. Applicants do not have to send any documents to the MBA program separately; all materials should be uploaded to the applicant's MyEIU account. Applicants may email (a second copy of) documents to both mba@eiu.edu graduate@eiu.edu if they have difficulty uploading any documents to their MyEIU account or if they want to provide additional documents to be considered for MBA admission or a position as a graduate assistant.
Applicants must meet the requirements by the Graduate School and/or International Office, including application fees, and official transcript(s) (for applicants receiving undergraduate degree from institutions other than EIU). A GRE or GMAT score is recommended for those applying for assistantships and can be submitted directly to the Graduate School.
In addition, you will need to be prepared to submit the following with your MyEIU program application:
If you are interested in a graduate assistantship, you also need to submit a graduate assistantship application.
Graduate assistantships are typically awarded in accordance with the academic year. Assistantship applications are normally accepted through the middle of February; a decision for the next academic year comes within a month. For more information about graduate assistantships, please click here.
Review of applications for assistantships begins in mid-March so a submission by the first week of March will receive full consideration; those submitted later will receive consideration only if any GA positions remain available.
