Overview

The biochemistry minor gives a meaningful exposure and immersion in biochemistry, and requires 24 credit hours. It requires taking the year-long general and organic chemistry courses (with associated labs), biochemistry I, biochemistry II, and then either advanced biochemistry or advanced molecular & cellular biology. This minor is particularly attractive to students seeking an in-depth study of biochemistry as well as students in the pre-health professional (pre-medicine, pre-physician's assistant, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy, pre-veterinary, etc.) as a number of the courses for the minor are already required for their admission to these professional programs.
