You can prepare for a career as a business analytics and information systems professional. The business analytics and information systems (BAIS) major combines background study in business with more in-depth study of analytics and information systems including business analytics, business intelligence, programming for analytics, information systems theory, systems analysis, databases, cybersecurity, networking.
EIU's School of Business is student-centered and fosters relationship-driven learning between students and faculty. BAIS students in the School of Business can reach their potential through a variety of learning experiences, both in and out of the classroom. All BAIS and business classes are taught by faculty members - not graduate students - using collaborative and project-based learning as well as more traditional teaching methods. BAIS students have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills through numerous extracurricular and co-curricular activities such as:
Award-winning student business organizations, including the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP); internships; off-campus seminar series; executive in residence program.
BAIS program is a STEM eligible degree program (CIP code 11.0199). The STEM designation allows eligible international students on F-1 visas access to an Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension, up to 36 months, as compared to 12 months for non-STEM degrees. This additional time period may help you gain additional real-world skills and experience in the U.S.
