Overview

Students in the creative writing minor take 18 credits in creative writing, starting with English 2000, Introduction to Creative Writing, which introduces students to writing in all the major genres (fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and playwriting or script writing). 

Creative writing minors come from all over campus and many different majors. They bring their special perspectives to creative writing classes, and they take back with them enhanced creativity--which is something that employers in many fields value.

Whether you hope to publish your work or just enjoy the creative process, the creative writing minor is a safe space to work with others who share your passion for words and the worlds we can invent with them.
