An education in economics from EIU develops practical skills and gives our graduates many career choices. The Economics major at Eastern is designed to be flexible, allowing a student to tailor the degree to her or his specific interests and career aspirations, and the Economics major can be combined easily with any minor.
Classes in economics at EIU are small in size, allowing our professors to better provide students with more individual attention. Admission to the Economics program requires a 2.25 grade point average in Economics coursework with at least six semester hours of Economics earned. (NOT AVAILABLE TO FRESHMEN.)
