FDIC Program Coordinator Instructional Support and Training Specialist
Eastern Illinois University is Faculty Development and Innovation Center is seeking qualified
applicants for the position of Program Coordinator ñ Instructional Support and Training
Specialist. This position will be part of the FDIC team and provide faculty training and support
with instructional technologies for faculty and staff. This may include, but is not limited to, face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses and programs with a focus on the College of Education. The
position will also oversee the Instructional Technology Center (ITC) and the Active Learning
Classroom in the College of Education. This position reports to the Director of the Faculty
Development and Innovation Center.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Train and assist faculty and staff in incorporating a wide range of teaching technologies
into face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes/programs.
2. Serve as a subject matter expert in academic technologies to assist faculty and staff in
incorporating the right technology to support their needs.
3. Provide faculty and staff with one-on-one and group instructional technology training for
D2L Brightspace, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Zoom, Turnitin, Respondus, and other
systems utilized by EIU.
4. Train and assist faculty on technology use in face-to-face, hybrid, and online
environments in k-12 and higher education.
5. Develop written and video training materials for EIU specific technologies.
6. In conjunction with faculty and/or staff, develop ITC programming for students, faculty,
staff, and community members.
7. Develop, train, and support the Early Childhood Active Learning Classroom.
8. Develop and maintain the ITC website.
9. Supervise student workers and graduate students in the ITC and Active Learning
Classroom in the College of Education.
10. Work with the Dean of the College of Education and ITC Advisory Board to develop,
implement, and evaluate ITC technology and programming consistent with K-12
standards.
11. Collaborate with the Center for Student Innovation (CSI) on instructional technology
initiatives.
12. Advise the Director of the Faculty Development and Innovation Center on instructional
technologies needs and new and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Training and Development,
Digital Media Technology, or a closely related field.
(A Bachelorís degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position plus three
years of experience may be considered.)
2. Experience or education from the following:
a. 1 yearsí experience with a learning management system
b. 1 yearsí experience in teaching and or training in K-12 education
Salary $4500-5100 monthly
The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No
participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants.
Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this Program
Coordinator ñ Instructional Support Specialist register.
