IT Technical Associate – Technology Support Specialist
The Information Technology Services Help Desk at Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for the part time position of IT Technical Associate – Technology Support Specialist. Duties of this position are to handle incoming phone calls and create ticket requests for end users; install and upgrade software and configure systems and applications for desktops; access software updates, drivers, and knowledge bases to research problem resolution.
Qualified candidates should have two years of progressively more responsible work experience with end user support, end point devise support and troubleshooting, and technical phone support, or a Bachelors’ degree in IT or computer technology-related field and one year of the above experience.
The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants. Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this IT Technical Associate – Technical Support Specialist register.
