Instructional Support and Training Specialist (ISTS)

Eastern Illinois University’s Faculty Development and Innovation Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Coordinator – Instructional Support and Training Specialist. This position will be part of the FDIC team and is responsible for leading initiatives in digital accessibility, user interface (UI), and user experience (UX) design for educational content across the university. This role will ensure compliance with ADA requirements, support faculty in creating accessible materials, and enhance the overall digital and online instruction and learning experiences at EIU.

Duties will include:

Develop and implement university-wide training and support for digital accessibility in course materials.
Develop and implement training and support for UI/UX guidelines for digital learning environments
Train and assist faculty in integrating instructional technologies into their courses.
Create comprehensive training materials including videos, documents, podcasts, and infographics.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Accessibility and Accommodations to align accessibility initiatives with learner experiences.
Assist the Director of the Faculty Development and Innovation Center to assess the effectiveness of training programs and support services for digital accessibility.
Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

1.      Experience in higher education setting

2.      Certifications in digital accessibility and UI/UX

3.      Experience with learning management systems and instructional technologies; D2L Brightspace preferred

Rate of pay will be $4500-5100 Monthly 

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants. Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this Program Coordinator – Instructional Support and Training Specialist.
