The History Graduate Program is pleased to offer an accelerated option for motivated EIU undergraduates interested in earning an MA in History. Through this option the BA and MA degrees are conferred within as few as five years, reducing the total time to a master’s degree. Students are eligible to apply in the semester in which they will have completed 60 credit hours and will need to be enrolled no later than their third undergraduate year. The program works by allowing students to apply “shared” courses to both their undergraduate and graduate programs of study. For the MA, only courses listed 4775 and above are eligible. The student must consult with the graduate coordinator when selecting courses. This program offers both a thesis and non-thesis option. The online option for teachers is not available to accelerated students.
