One Strange Rock
The Department of Geology and Geography has the honor of pre-screening a new docu-series by National Geographic entitled, “One Strange Rock.” It is a “mind bending, thrilling journey that explored the fragility and wonder of planet Earth – one of the most peculiar, unique places in the universe.” Narrated by Will Smith, it features perspectives from 10 astronauts on the wonders of the Earth as seen from space. Our pre-screening will be on March 8th, 12:30 – 2:00 in the Physical Science Building, room 3040. Light refreshments provided. Nationwide broadcast will be on March 26th.

Dr. Diane Burns and the Department hosted 14 high school students and 2 faculty from Robinson, IL. Both faculty are EIU alums: Tara Apple (far left) and Tara Bussmann (4th from right). President Glassman (middle) was also in attendance to greet the students.
