ION @ EIU

The FDIC @ EIU is proud to be an institutional member of the Illinois Online Network (ION) at the University of Illinois-Springfield. The ION Professional eLearning Program provides professional development programs and support to advance the practice and innovation of online learning for faculty, staff, and online leaders. ION also offers courses in accessibility and open educational resources that can be used by traditional faculty, staff, and education leaders. Membership for EIU faculty and staff includes cost-free and discounted fees for courses through ION.

ION courses are designed to fulfill the Interregional Guidelines for the Evaluation of Distance Education Standard 6 requirements for the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions (C-RAC).

The professional development courses provided by ION serve as a systematic training program the incorporates tested effective practices in online pedagogy and demonstrate competencies in online learning.

ION Professional eLearning Program is housed within Continuing and Professional Education (CAPE) and works in conjunction with the Center for Online Learning, Research, and Service (COLRS) at the University of Illinois Springfield.

Faculty and staff at EIU can register for ION courses for free or reduced costs. 

You can follow the instructions to create your account and register through ION.

The membership code for EIU is LS783 - you will need this to register for courses.
