English Studies

The English major with an emphasis in English Studies offers maximum flexibility for students who want a broad background encompassing all areas of English Studies, or who have specialized interests and want to design their own English major. 

The emphasis requires 30 credits of coursework in English, with at least 24 of those credits at the 3000-level or above, and including 3 credits in Multicultural and Non-Western Literature.

• Maximum flexibility in designing a program that suits the student’s interests and needs
  
  
• In addition to regular academic advising, students in the English Studies emphasis will be assigned a faculty mentor
