EIU Educator Preparation

Eastern Illinois University is pleased to partner with regional school districts to develop and deliver innovative programs to improve access to teacher licensure for adult learners living in the region.  We plan to begin new cohorts  beginning Fall 2024; classes will be offered evenings and/or hybrid/online in order to accommodate those who work.  

EIU is committed to offering the professional education courses and field experiences required for licensure in special education and elementary education, while at the same time facilitating access to general education course through either EIU or local community colleges.  Candidates may take courses concurrently through EIU and local community colleges to fulfill program requirements.
