If you need information on how to obtain a teaching license in another state, click below on the state in which you are interested.
If the state in which you wish to obtain a license requests evidence of your Illinois teaching license, you will need to so through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Educator LIcensure Information System (ELIS), which can be accessed here.
If you need verification of completion of an educator preparation program, please send your request to the attention of the EIU Teacher Licensure Office, Dr. Stephen Lucas (selucas@eiu.edu). You may also send requests to Dr. Lucas's attention by mail: College of Education, Eastern Illinois University, 600 Lincoln Avenue, Charleston, IL 61920.
If you need to request an EIU transcript, please click here. Please note that the College of Education does not provide "unofficial" transcripts.
Remember that your EIU teacher education program has been designed to meet the current requirements of the State of Illinois, and that each state has its own unique licensure requirements. We are happy to verify that you have completed a state-approved program at EIU, but it is not within our ability to verify that you have met another state's requirements--it is up to each state to determine if a candidate has met its requirements for teacher licensure.
