Each fall semester, the Engagement Coordinator hosts a panel presentation given by students who completed an internship the previous summer. This panel is a great starting point for students who are interested in getting an internship but are not sure where to start. Look for announcements on the next internship panel.
Business Internship Updates
Several local businesses contact the Engagement Coordinator to post internship opportunities. These opportunities often allow a student to experience an internship while still taking classes on campus.

Networking Opportunities
Career and Internship Fairs: EIU's Career Services hosts two on-campus Career and Internship Fairs each year that are of interest to Business students; one in the fall semester and one in the spring semester. A Career and Internship Fair is an opportunity for students to talk to representatives from companies that employ EIU graduates, to learn more about the employers, and to inquire about internship opportunities. Students who attend a Career and Internship Fair should dress professionally and take several copies of their resume. For dates, and tips on preparing for the event, visit the Career Services website.
Student Organizations: Involvement in School of Business Student Organizations allow students the opportunity to meet representatives of companies which recruit EIU students for internships through speaker meetings, social events, field trips and special events such as Accounting Day and AITP Career Connections Day. To learn more about the School of Business Student Organizations, click here.
Student Ambassadors: Become a Student Ambassador for the School of Business. This is a great way to meet people in the business world, enhance your communication and leadership skills, and build your resume. Applications are available in the Lumpkin College Student Hub for Engagement, Leadership and Professionalism, Lumpkin Hall 2051.
Executive-in-Residence: Attend presentations and meetings with executives through the School of Business Executive-in-Residence (EIR) Program. Watch the Lumpkin Hall monitors for event announcements.
