EIU Annuitants Association celebrated their 40th year in existence on January 21, 2011 with a luncheon and entertainment in St. Charles Borromeo Church in Charleston.
We enjoyed an exuberant, humorous and melodious performance by the Four Voices Entertainment (Annuitant Al Horney with four voices, rhythm section and sound staff).
Alan Baharlou paid a tribute to William H. Zeigel one of the founders of State Universities Annuitants Associations (SUAA) on September 20,1971and Eastern Illinois University Annuitants Associations (EIUAA) on September 27, 1971. William Zeigel was the second president of SUAA and first president of EIUAA. William Zeigel was also one of the group members responsible for passage of the Illinois Constitutional Guarantee of Public Employees Pensions. We awarded the EIU Annuitants Association Scholarship to Kaylee Hackney and Dale Wolf was recognized as the Annuitant Ambassador of the year by Patti Stratton, Executive Director of the EIU Foundation. Guests were EIU President William Perry and Linda Perry, Vice President of the University Advancement Bob Martine, State Senator Dale Righter, Executive Director of the EIU Foundation, Patti Stratton and Nancy page EIU Foundation Philanthropy.
