INTRODUCTION
Nick joined the faculty of EIU in 2008. He is excited to continue teaching and designing scenery and lighting for the EIU Theatre Department. Some of his favorite designs are A Bright New Boise, Dogfight, The Secret Garden and Urinetown. He has designed scenery throughout the Midwest; in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. He has worked with Ricardo Khan of the Crossroads Theatre Company on the world premiere of Quindaro and had the pleasure of working with The SITI Company as well. Since moving to Illinois, he has designed for the Sullivan Little Theatre on the Square , Parkland College, The Station Theatre, and for The Ruckus Theater of Chicago. Professor Shaw is very active in KCACTF as a respondent to regional productions and a presenter at the KCACTF Regional Fesival. He has presented workshops on composition and sketch model construction. He is interested in all things theatrical, but spends most of his time behind the scenes. He teaches Introduction To Theatre, Stagecraft, Stage Management, Digital Theatrical Design, Stage Management, Lighting Design and Scenic Design. He took over as Chair in January of 2020.
Professor Shaw is the faculty advisor for Alpha Psi Omega.
