Lincolnland Hospice of Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital
The Lincoln Land Hospice is a comprehensive program of care which supports terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers in hospice find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Volunteers are needed for office support tasks including breaking down and building patient charts, constructing informational folders, and assembling nursing admission folders. Training is required and provided free of charge. Training will vary in length according to your volunteering interest.

I Sing the Body Electric
I Sing the Body Electric combines the arts and prevention in a collaborative program connecting youth with health and education communities in the largest rural geographic educational region in the state of Illinois. 105 Professional Plaza, Mattoon, IL 61938.

Coles County Health Department
The mission of the Coles County Health Department is to provide quality health services through prevention, education, health promotion and protection efforts in a manner that ensures the dignity of each individual served. All programs offered by the Coles County Health Department are free to those who qualify. Tobacco Coalition
Get Involved! Speak your Opinion! The EIU Tobacco Coalition consists of students, staff, faculty, and community members that meet once a month to discuss tobacco policies in effect at EIU and in the Charleston community, educational outreach, and promoting a smoke-free/tobacco-free campus. The coalition is always looking for student feedback on current policies, suggestions or concerns, as well as opinions about the smoke-free campus initiative proposal that is currently being discussed. Meetings usually last no more than one hour and always take place at one of the Union meeting rooms. For more information about upcoming meeting times, questions, or how to get involved, you can contact the HERC Substance Abuse Coordinator.

Alcohol and Other Drug Coalition (AODC)
The AODC is a committee of representatives from on- and off-campus departments coming together once a month to discuss alcohol and other drug issues affecting the EIU and surrounding community. The mission of the AODC is to create a safe and healthy environment by encouraging legal and responsible behavior regarding drinking and other drug use. The AODC is looking for volunteers to sit in on a coalition meeting and give feedback about what they are seeing in their groups pertaining to drinking and other drug use as well as any concerns they may have. The AODC meets on campus at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union once a month for approximately one hour. There would be a one-hour meeting requirement although volunteers are welcome to continue to come to future monthly meetings. Please contact the AODC chair for details on meeting times and locations.
