It is estimated two of every 10 Americans will be 65 years or older by 2030. As that ratio increases, so does the need for people knowledgeable on the subject of aging.
Possibilities for graduates include working directly with older people in a wide variety of programs and services within the community. Other opportunities include working on behalf of older people in areas such as research, advocacy and teaching about aging. The goal is to increase the quality of life for our aging population.
The Association for Gerontology in Higher Education designated our Master of Arts in Gerontology program as a Program of Merit, making it one of two such programs in the country to receive this important distinction. Our faculty understands the reality of juggling the competing demands of work, family, and career. Therefore, all of our courses are offered either in the evenings, during the weekends, and some of our courses are available online. However, this is not an online Master's degree program.
