Nick joined the faculty of EIU in 2008. He is excited to continue teaching and designing for EIU Theatre Arts Department. He has has the fortune of designing the scenery of the EIU productions Brighton Beach Memoirs, The Tempest, and Fiddler on the Roof. He has designed scenery throughout the Midwest; in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. He has worked with Ricardo Khan of the Crossroads Theatre Company on the world premiere of Quindaro and had the pleasure of working with The SITI Company as well. Since moving to Illinois, he has designed for the Sullivan Little Theatre on the Square and for The Ruckus Theater of Chicago. Professor Shaw is interested in all things theatrical, but spends most of his time behind the scenes. He teaches Introduction To Theatre, Stagecraft, Stage Management, and Scenic Design.
Professor Shaw is the faculty advisor for Alpha Psi Omega and Hello Dali.
