Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (ANCRA)
On June 27, 2012 the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (325 ILCS 5) was amended to include personnel of institutions of higher learning as mandated reporters in the state of Illinois (HB3887). As a person working for Eastern Illinois University, you are now a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect.
All personnel are required to sign the ANCRA form acknowledging this responsibility. This is a one-time requirement.
As a Mandated Reporter, you have certain obligations. Use the information below to familiarize yourself with these new legal responsibilities.

As a Mandated Reporter, you are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect immediately. Willful failure to report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect is a misdemeanor (first violation) or a class 4 felony (second or subsequent violation.)
