50th Class Reunion - Class of 1962

As part of this year's Homecoming proceedings, we would like to invite EIU's Class of 1962 for a golden anniversary celebration and recognition luncheon. In addition, we encourage members of the Class of 1962 to participate in the rest of the Homecoming activities scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13.

Schedule of Events

Homecoming Parade
9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Sixth Street and Seventh Street

Come early and enjoy the annual Homecoming parade. This year's lineup will feature homemade floats, bands, candy-throwing students and much more!

Social Hour
10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
MLK Jr. University Union - University Ballroom

This is an opportunity for you and your fellow classmates to join together and start to catch up on the last 50 years. During the social, the class photograph and the Livingston C. Lord Society pinning ceremony will take place. You may register for this event using the registration form.

11:15 a.m.

A class photo will be taken to commemorate this celebratory occasion. A complimentary photo will be mailed to your home, courtesy of the EIU Alumni Association.

Livingston C. Lord Society Pinning Ceremony
11:30 a.m.
MLK Jr. University Union - University Ballroom

The Livingston C. Lord Society was established to honor members of the 50-year class who return to campus for their 50th class reunion. In recognition of this honor, members of the class of 1962 will be individually called forward to receive their Lord Society pin.

Livingston C. Lord Society Luncheon
11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
MLK Jr. University Union - University Ballroom

The Livingston C. Lord Society Luncheon will commence directly following the pinning ceremony. Tickets are $15 per person. You may register for this event using the registration form.

Homecoming Football Game
1:30 p.m.
O'Brien Stadium

EIU hosts Jacksonville State for the Homecoming football game. Tickets are $11. Indicate the number of tickets you would like to purchase on the registration form. Tickets will be mailed to you prior to the reunion.

50th Reunion Scholarship

Eastern possesses unlimited potential and is widely recognized as a leader in undergraduate education. This is something all alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the university can take pride in.

To further enhance the university, the members of the graduating class of 1940 created a scholarship to support an academic program in need. The scholarship is awarded to the colleges on a rotating basis with the respective dean making the decision as to which department will receive the award.

This award is known as the 50th Reunion Scholarship and each 50-year class is given the opportunity to make a contribution to this fund.

If you would like to participate, please indicate your contribution to the 50th Reunion Scholarship on the registration form. You will be mailed a gift receipt for tax purposes.

Registration Information

To register, call 800-ALUM-EIU or complete and return this form (via mail or fax) by Friday, Sept. 21. Please include a current, uncropped photo with your registration. We will be putting together a reunion book with the information and photos submitted.
