Peter Wiles, Ph.D.

Dr. Peter Wiles, associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, currently serves as the coordinator of graduate study for the mathematics education program. The graduate program offers the Master of Arts in Mathematics with an option in elementary/middle school math education as well as the option in secondary mathematics education.
Dr. Wiles’ research interests are in the fields of mathematical thinking of preservice teachers, geometric thinking through mathematical origami, and using dynamic geometry environments as a tool for reflective thinking. He received his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Admission to the graduate program in mathematics education requires an application to the Graduate School as well as an additional application to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Please contact Dr. Wiles or visit the program's website for program admission criteria.
