School of Business Majors and the Graduation Guarantee
Majors in the School of Business require extra diligence from students to stay on track for graduation. Most importantly student's should be admitted to upper-division standing by the end of their sophomore year or beginning of their junior year at the latest. Failure to do so may result in ineligibility for EIU4 and delayed graduation.
- Be admitted to EIU;
- Be in good academic standing;
- Submit an application to the School of Business prior to the first day of classes for the semester of desired admission;
- Have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 (2.75 for students applying to the accounting program*) and have all transcripts on file at the time of application;
- Have completed at least 60 semester hours by the end of the semester in which the student makes application; and
- Have completed (with a grade of C or better in each), or be enrolled in, the following four tool courses or acceptable equivalents at a transfer institution:
BUS 2102 Managerial Accounting
Generally, to remain on track for graduation in four years, you should apply for upper-division standing the 2nd semester of your sophomore year or 1st semester of your junior year (at the latest).
